Free Film and Community Discussion: FREE TO RIDE

For Black History Month, PEACOC (Parents Empowering All Children of Color) and the Springboro Pastors' Association is airing Free to Ride, a Kirwan Institute Documentary Film.

In 2009, citizens in Dayton, Ohio, voiced concerns about the dangerous journey faced by bus riders who had to cross a busy interstate overpass on foot to get to their employment, shopping, medical, and educational destinations. What followed was a series of policy and publicity battles and a two-year investigation by the Federal Highway Administration. Produced by The Ohio State University’s Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, Free To Ride is a promising story about community action to correct an injustice.

Community discussion to follow film.

Masking and social distancing will be observed.
